Did you ever wonder why the greatest products have the simplest names?! Maybe those who were naming them didn't know better or they just didn't find it so important as we do today???
There is a funny story about naming the Apple. Apparently, Steve Jobs (co-founder of the Apple) was so frustrated about not knowing how to name his company said to his stuff: "If you don't come up with a name by 5 o'clock I am calling it Apple". And he did! And the Apple became the most expensive name in the Silicon Valley history. At the time when Smarties were introduced in 1937. there were no big brand consultant firms and no brand managers. Still, these tiny sugar-coated chocolate confectionery are known all around the globe and we all adore them! Two students who started Yahoo were probably just having fun while browsing through the dictionary. And they made millions! At the end it seems the great ones are not great for there name but for what they are and will be recognised even if they have the most stupid name possible...
